The Cito Rats know who there are and how that name seemed to catch on like wildfire….. it was a short time between the 70s and 80s most of the fun was over by the 90s…. anyone who was there knows there is still nothing even remotely close to the extremes that we went to for some pretty crazy times….

The Cito Rats got their name from the kids of the late 1970s and 1980s. Cito is short for Montecito and Rats or Rat of common names for kids that surf or skateboard. (Surf Rats, Skate Rats) Almost everyone  growing up in Montecito did one or the other or both as well as many other extreme Sports including; surfing, skateboarding, snowboarding, wake boarding, motocross racing, freestyle motocross, super sport motorcycle racing, auto racing and more. There are some important names that came from The Cito such as Tom Sims, Chuck Barfoot, Tom Curren, George Powel, Renny Yater and many more.
